Santo Amaro is a civil parish northern coast of the island of Pico, in the eastern part of the municipality of São Roque do Pico in the Azores. In 2001, the population The population in 2001 was 329, divided into several agglomerations along the northern branch of the Estrada Regional E.R. 1-1ª, occupying an area of 13.3 km² (its density was 24.74/km²). It is the least-populated parish in the municipality, while the largest in area.

Geography

The parish is located in the eastern part of the municipality and linked by regional roadway encircling the whole island. The area are hilly and mountainous in the south and farmlands buttress the area around the main roadway, while forests dominate the mountain areas.

Santo Amaro has a school, a few churches, a port and a square.
